In P.E the children practiced throwing the ball into a target to score points. In science and D.T the children learnt about the wind and made a kite, they had lots of fun testing the kites to see if they would fly!

This Week in Hollies

16th June 2023A Hutchinson

12.06.23-16.06.23

This week we have spent lots of time outdoors and created a classroom outside and we did most of our science and history work out there. In science we built houses and then tested to see if they would hold up in the wind and rain. The paper straw house did not survive.

Recently we have been very interested in London so to move on we had a French afternoon and looked at Paris. We looked at all of the landmarks, found it on the map and even tried some French food.

  • Inventions;
  • Writing;
  • How they built cities;
  • How they used water from the River Nile.

We worked as groups to answer lots of questions and present our research on huge posters.
