This week the children in Rowans attended a workshop which is based on the book Kitchen Disco. The children had lots of fun and absolutely loved the show.
This week in Rowans the children have been learning about the Hindu festival of light called ‘Diwali’. The children have created colourful Rangoli patterns and also made Diya lamps made out of clay! They look amazing! Well done everyone.
This week in Rowan’s the children have explored mixing the primary colours of yellow and blue and identified that it made green. Well done!
This week in Art the children selected colours and foam roller to make print patterns for the tentacles of their Octopuses. The children then added eyes, a mouth and tentacles to the body to create colourful octopuses. Well done Rowans
A super duper first week back after half term. This week in maths we have been building numbers to 20 and counting beyond 20. We have also been adding by counting on and using our number bonds. In phonics we have been reading and writing +ng and +ph words. We have also enjoyed playing in the sand pit and drawing sea creatures.

This week in computing the children in Rowans created an under the sea animal on Purple Mash. Well done everyone.
This week in Geography the children explored five of the animal habitats – Desert, Ocean, Farm, Poles, and the Rainforest. The children had to identify the animals and sort into their correct habitat. Well done everyone!
This week in art the children listened to a video that explained the different patterns that animals have on their bodies with spots and stripes. The children then chose an animal and created a pattern. Well done everyone!
This week in science the children were naming and sorting animals into the different groups of mammal, bird, fish, reptile and amphibian.
This week in Science, the children have been exploring what a plant needs to grow. The children learnt all about seeds and the process of germination. The children then followed instructions to plant sunflower seed and added water. Well done Rowans!
