In Computing today we made up a dance routine by creating a sequence of instructions for others to follow. We learned that a set of instructions is called an algorithm. The children tested their algorithms before other children performed their dance.
In Art this week the children have used a variety of techniques to create Jackson Pollock style artwork. Firstly, the children created digital art using 2paint to select the wet paint tool to give the effect of the paint dripping. Then the children used paint and marbles to also create the drip and splash effect. Well done everyone!
This week in Mathematics we are exploring the numbers 4 and 5, looking for them in the environment and representing them in different ways.
We decided to set up a shop and used 1p coins to make different amounts. We sorted all of the items we wanted to sell. talking about why they belonged in each section of the shop, then we made price labels for the items. Some items were more than 5p, so we carefully counted out the right number of coins to make each amount.
We’ve even started to create a cafe within our shop, so customers can have a drink and snack when they finish their shopping!
