Easter Fun in Maples!

31st March 2023S Wilkinson

The children in Maples have had lots of fun completing Easter activities this week. They have completed some Easter maths work, made some delicious chocolate nests, made Easter cards and created their own Mr Men for our whole school Smelly Egg competition.

Today the children had a special McDonalds treat to celebrate all the hard work they have completed this term and completed an chocolate egg hunt which was left for them by the Easter bunny.

Have a look at the fun they have had!

Hollies have had a very busy week! On Wednesday we helped Mrs Tones officially open the Hub and we showed our special visitors the new sensory room.

On Friday we had a special Easter day. For lunch we had a special treat and had McDonalds along with Maples. We also had a special visit from the Easter bunny who hid eggs around the school. The bunny then left us a special egg and a certificate.

Happy Easter everyone!

Animal Printing in Chestnuts

31st March 2023G Mills

In art, Chestnuts have been looking at animal skin and the different patterns they have.

We made printing blocks with strong cardboard and sponges. Then, we dipped them in paint and created similar patterns to look like animal skin.

Finally, we cut out silhouettes and stuck them on our animal printing.

Easter Fun in Rowans

31st March 2023A Barnes

The children in Rowans class have completed a range of Easter activities. The children created Easter egg cards their for parents using finger prints. For the smelly egg competition the children decorated an egg each to create The Very Hungry Caterpillar. In aft we used masking tape and chalks to create patterns to decorate our own Easter egg. We also used paint dabbers to mix colours to create a colourful outline of an Easter bunny. Finally, in phonics we enjoyed a Easter sound hunt collecting the eggs.

This Week in Cherries

30th March 2023Hannah Edgar

In RE we have been learning all about Holy week. We wrote sentences about the days leading up to Easter Sunday and looked at how Christians celebrate Easter.

As part of Autism Acceptance Week and the theme of colour, we went over to Willows to design yellow butterflies to be part of a whole school display. We then wrote acrostic poems using positive adjectives to describe people.

To end the Rocks, Relics and Rumbles topic we looked as tsunamis and how they are caused.

For our smelly egg competition we designed some dinosaurs and eggs and created a display with our volcanoes.

We had our final Kidsafe session and were all awarded certificates.

Getting Creative in Acorns

28th March 2023A Malone

We have been exploring ways to join materials and make our structures sturdy and strong. We planned and made some models using recyclable materials, and tested them to make sure they didn’t break or fall over.

It was quite a challenge but we didn’t give up! We worked together to help each other out, shared resources and then displayed our creations for others to see.
