Acorns Parent/Carer Session

22nd June 2023A Malone

This week we invited our grown-ups into school to help us build boats. This was linked to our topic ‘On the Beach’, and also to our science work on ‘Everyday Materials’.

We designed and made the boats, ensuring that they were sturdy and waterproof. Some of us added sails to give them extra power! Then we launched them in the ‘Great Acorns Boat Race’, to check how well they floated.

Everyone had a fantastic time and the boats were amazing!

Outdoor Fun this Week in Pines

16th June 2023L Calder

This week has been very warm! We took our art lesson outdoors for some sensory paint splatting fun watching the colours mix on the paper. We enjoyed blowing some bubbles and enjoyed a visit to the local park. At the park we were requesting a push on the swing and interacting with our friends on the see-saw. To help us prepare for future visits to place and learn about safety we have been practising reading safety signs we read some common ones together like toilets/ exit/ hospital and then played a matching game to match road safety signs. Well done Pines!
