On Tuesday the children from Hollies and Maples wrote their letters to Santa explaining what they want for Christmas.
Today the children enjoyed a walk to the postbox to send their letters to Santa and his elves in the North Pole. They are excited to receive their replies. Hopefully they come soon!
This week, in science, Willows were exploring the power of friction.
They conducted their own investigation to see which materials had the most and least friction.
This week at construction club, the children had to build a tower that was at least 1 metre tall and could stand up on its own.
This wasn’t as easy at it may sound and the children worked hard together to achieve their build.
They had to experiment with lots of different building techniques to make sure that they built a tower that could stand up independently.
Every Friday afternoon, Acorns meet up with their buddies in Sycamores and Oaks, for a session of shared reading and singing. It’s a lovely opportunity for classes to come together and enjoy some social time. It really helps to develop social, communication and language skills, and gives the older children a sense of responsibility to look after their Acorns friends.
In Maths this week, Reception have been exploring the number 9. We discovered that it is a square number, and investigated which other numbers are square.
Year 1 have been working hard at addition and using part-whole models.
This week, as part of our Inter faith week work we have researched the history and purpose of Inter faith Week. We found out some fascinating pieces of information about the aims of the week, benefits of Inter faith Week as well as how other schools and work places could get involved.
We produced detailed non-chronological reports on the subject using our extensive knowledge. We enjoyed organising the information and highlighting the main information about the week.
We also created out very own Ramadan Lanterns.

On Friday 18th November, the whole school “showed our spots” to raise money for Children in Need.
Everyone wore spotty clothes, including face paints and Pudsey ears.
We held a cake sale, in place of our usual healthy tuck shop, and raised over £80.
Thank you to everyone for your effort and kind contributions.
