Abstract Art
This week Birches created their own abstract art after looking at examples. We chose a pencil portrait and traced it, selecting certain lines to create an abstract effect. We’ve been quite impressed by the results!
Sensory play
Maples have had a brilliant first week back and as a reward for their hard work the children got to take part in some sensory/messy play which they thoroughly enjoyed. Throughout the week the children have completed phonic and math’s jobs as well as starting our new topic Magnificent Monarchs.

Easter in Birches
We’ve completed a few different Easter activities this week in Birches but our favourite is always the Easter egg hunt! We were a bit worried as it was a bit rainy at the beginning of the day, but that soon cleared up and we were able to do our hunt outside. Everyone found an egg with some chocolate in and had a great time!
Red Nose Day
Birches had a great Red Nose Day dressing in red and sharing toys from home.

In Birches today we tested different materials to see which one was the most reflective. we had to make predictions first and explain our choices, then investigate to see if our prediction was correct.
