Festive Fun!

In the lead up to Christmas Cherries have been up to some fun festive things. We integrated with Willows to make our Christmas cards and calendars.

We enjoyed wearing our Christmas jumpers for Christmas jumper day and learning about India in Willows.

       

We enjoyed watching the snow falling.

 

We went to watch the pantomime Dick Wittington.

   

We enjoyed a McDonalds for lunch as a treat, completed a Christmas quiz with Willows.

And enjoyed a pyjama movie afternoon getting comfy and cosy in class.

Marvellous Magnets!

This week in science the children explored different types of magnets.

They were able to identify and name the different magnets as well as use them to explore how the two poles of a magnet will either attract or repel.

Winter Warmer Session

The children in Rowans and Acorns class had such fun this morning at the winter warmer session with Sandra from Tides of Change. Everyone was super sensible and followed instructions to toast marshmallows on the fire to make s’mores, they were yummy.

Watercolour Art

To become better artists, Chestnuts have been painting using watercolours.

We have been using different colour pallets to show different moods and feelings. For example, lots of blues to show sadness and red to show anger.

We even mixed different paints to create our own new colours.

Using the watercolours was not easy, but we tried our very best!
