This half term in Cherries our topic has been ‘Coastlines’. We have been reading ‘The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch’ books and the children participated in some fantastic role play to retell the story.

We made our own delicious packed lunches and some of us were brave enough to taste mustard!

In Geography we have been exploring maps and globes and labelled the countries of the UK and its surrounding seas and oceans.

In Science we have been learning about materials. We went on a material hunt around our classroom. We have also tested properties of materials to see if they can bend, stretch, squash or twist and if materials are waterproof.

Children’s Mental Health Week

In Blueberries this week we have been talking about mental health and how it is important to look after our brain as well as our bodies. We discussed things that we have learned over the last year and how they have helped our minds grow, then created a ‘growing tree’ to display the things we have learned.
