Willows Working from Home

8th June 2020A Tod

Well, what a busy 11 weeks it has been for Willows. They have been working very hard at home and have produced some wonderful work!

In Willows we work as a team. This means we bring each other up and help one another through times that might be difficult. Over the past few weeks this is exactly what they have been doing. Although we cannot be together I have certainly felt that Willows have kept me going and worked amazingly as the team that they are.

I want to say THANK YOU to YOU, Willows, and all the BRILLIANT parents that have kept going during such uncertain times.

Let’s see what Willows have been up to…

Madison the culinary genius!

Future X-Factor star?

I’m not sure that’s what beds are for Madison!?

An unusual visitor?!

Jack set a PB for running his fastest mile!

Mya tasting her homemade WW2 snack

Shadow drawing!

Lacie and Riley’s scavenger hunt!

A gazebo classroom!

Staying Safe Online

18th May 2020A Hearn

The internet has become an integral part of our lives. During these difficult times children’s access to the internet, gaming and use of social media has increased dramatically. It can be hard to know how to talk to your child about online safety, from setting up parental controls, to advice on online games and apps. As technology is always changing and new apps appear regularly it’s difficult to know what is appropriate and what isn’t appropriate for your child. Each week we will be sharing some useful websites to help you understand the risks and how to keep your child safe when using technology.

https://www.commonsensemedia.org/

Common Sense Media is a very useful website:

Common Sense Media rates movies, TV shows, books, and more so parents can feel good about the entertainment choices they make for their kids. We offer the largest, most trusted library of independent age-based ratings and reviews. Our timely parenting advice supports families as they navigate the challenges and possibilities of raising kids in the digital age.

  • They offer advice on setting parental controls.
  • You can look at reviews of films, games and apps before you download them. You can search for a particular app or game using the search bar.
  • In the ‘parents need to know’ section there is lots of information on a range of topics dealing with life online. You can search by age group or by topic.
  • There are also parent guides for different apps and games.
