Oaks and Plums End of Year Reward!

20th July 2022L Calder

As an end of year treat for our amazing year 6’s we had a trip out. We started with a little visit to the park where everyone showed off their monkey bar skills…

We then split into teams and battled each other in Laser Quaser, It was game on! We also enjoyed some time in the arcades…

Then we finished off our day with our lunch at the beach and some time playing in the sand…

A great day was had by all!

Brilliant Bakers!

19th July 2022A Hearn
Apples class have taken a real interest in baking and sugar craft this half term.  We have enjoyed following simple recipes to make all sorts of cakes, biscuits and cake pops, all of which tasted delicious!  We developed our piping and fondant shaping skills in order to decorate our creations. Then we shared them with our parents, teachers and friends across the school. We very possibly have some future bakers in our midst!

Roman Engineering!

19th July 2022l Mitchinson

Blueberries have been looking at Roman engineering over the past few weeks – we have been amazed by their ability to build bath houses, under-floor heating and toilets with running water! We spent one afternoon investigating aqueducts, looking at examples and using plastic pipes to build an outdoor aqueduct. Then we used what we had learned to design and build our own aqueduct out of a choice of materials. Some of us even managed to build one that would carry water!

Cherries Visit to the Park and the Beach

15th July 2022H Warburton

During the Spring term Cherries learned about the beach and coastlines, we read seaside stories and learned about seaside animals.

We went on a visit to South Shields beach and the North Marine Park to see if we could see some of the animals and objects we had read about. We had lots of fun using all of the play park equipment, enjoyed our packed lunches sitting on the grass then went to the beach to dig in the sand, bury objects and collect shells.
