Sycamores had a great World Book Day.
Look at some of the amazing costumes…
In science this term, Sycamores have been learning about the reproduction of plants and animals.
We went out into the school grounds to take plant clippings. We then placed them in water and we’re hoping they will sprout roots, before we can plant them in compost and grow identical clones of the original plant.
As part our French week, Sycamores have been:
* Learning lots of new French vocabulary;
* Tasting French foods, including croissants, brioche & baguettes;
* Creating art in the pointillism style of Georges Seurat;
* Painting French flags;
* Building models of the Eiffel Tower using spaghetti and marshmallows;
* Playing boules on the school field.
Look at the fun we’ve had!
Sycamores researched different animal skin prints and then created their own printing blocks to recreate similar patterns.
We then added a black silhouette of our chosen animal.
We think out art work looks amazing!
As part of mental health awareness week, Sycamores created leaflets offering advice about how to connect with nature.
Nature can help to significantly improve our psychological and emotional health.
The children can now offer lots of great suggestions – ask them for some tips to help you…
We have also been outside in PE, playing games in the sunshine. Being on the field exercising has helped us all to have a great mental health awareness week at school!
Sycamores celebrated World Bee Day on May 20th 2021 🐝
We thought about how to better protect bees.
Look at our amazing posters, which include some great tips of things we can do to help.

Our topic this term in science has been Earth and Space.
Sycamores conducted an experiment to test gravitational force on earth.
We rolled up different sized plastercine balls to see which would fall to the ground the quickest. We were amazed to find they all hit the floor at the same time because of the constant gravitational force on earth.
