The Peer Network session is aimed at parents/carers of children and young people who have experienced difficulties with their mental/emotional health and who may have accessed services either now, or in the past. The sessions have been adapted and added a few formal sessions giving parents/carers a chance to meet and develop their understanding of some of the services South Tyneside has to offer.

Free Self Care Courses for Parents

BLISS=Ability are offering Self-Care courses these are currently being run virtually.

Our Self-Care Course covers:

  • An introduction to self-care.
  • Your health beliefs & how to change unhealthy behaviours.
  • Confidence building & increasing self-esteem.
  • Managing stress & anxiety.
  • Healthy eating & nutrition.
  • Physical activity.
  • Creating your own unique self-care plan.

It is a flexible nine hour course, delivered by a qualified trainer. Sessions are learner-focused with follow-up reviews.

Our course can also be arranged to suit you, a group or workplace staff. It’s FREE to anyone living or working in South Tyneside.

Our courses are being run on the following dates:

Tuesday 23rd March – 6th April 10-12.30pm x 3 sessions

Tuesday 13th April – 27th April 12.30 -3.00pm x 3 sessions

Wednesday 24th March – 28th April 10.00-11.30am x 6 sessions

Wellbeing sessions:

Thursday 18th March Good Nutrition 2-3pm

Thursday 25th March Keep Active 2-3pm

Thursday 31st March Sleeping Well 2-3pm

Thursday 8th April Good Nutrition 2-3pm

Children’s Mental Health Week Doodle Competition

Thank you for all the doodle entries. Jane, Margaret, Linda (our kitchen staff) and Mrs Ullah
had a very difficult job deciding which ones to choose as the winners. Well done to Amber, Alfie, Lacie, Sonny and Will. Everyone was impressed with the colour and detail used in the doodles!
