Cookery club is held every week in our fantastic ‘Life-Skills’ flat. We have an amazing kitchen area complete with a double oven/hob, fridge, microwave and lots of great equipment. Every week we will make a simple but tasty recipe, we send a copy home so that children can transfer their amazing skills to home. We also encourage the children to wash/dry the dishes, wipe down the tables and even sweep up!
Cooking and baking is such a fun and enjoyable activity to do, it incorporates so many different elements – confidence, teamwork, cooperation, Maths, reading, Science, essential life skills and many more useful skills.
As well as making some lovely food we also learn about kitchen safety, good hygiene practice and we often have a food related quiz.
We hope that this is an activity that your child will engage with and thoroughly enjoy.
