On Monday 15th March for World Maths Day, we listened to a story, ’10 Black Dots’, about how 10 dots can be arranged in different ways to represent different things.

We went on to explore number bonds to 10, finding as many ways as possible to make 10 using addition and subtraction.

We also made posters for numbers using the correct amount of black dots.

We explored the art work of Paul Klee, who used a lot of shapes in his pictures. We then made our own shape pictures and explored the vocabulary of shape.

It was a great day. We had lots of fun exploring how maths is used in lots of different ways.
