On Monday we started our celebration week of reading at Fellgate Primary school.
Each day we will be exploring reading across the school with different fun activities linked to a theme. Monday’s theme is communication and collaboration.
In school, all classes have been paired up and will be working together to write a short story which can be read and enjoyed together. So far today, we have had stories about a suspicious visitor in a premier Inn, a child who is stuck in a virtual reality game, a curious whale, dragon riders and even an ugly toad. I cannot wait until they are finished so we can all enjoy them together.
It has been great to hear about classes working together and continuing each others stories with interesting endings. In Oaks we have been enjoying popping into to these virtual stories to discuss how they could continue.
Extreme Reading
Where is the most extreme place you have ever read a book? Whether it is up a tree, on top of a mountain or stood on your head, we want your photos. Your challenge is to take a picture of yourself and send it into school by Wednesday 26th May for our Extreme Reading competition.
Obviously, we encourage everyone to stay safe but we are looking for to seeing who in our school has such a passion for reading that they have to do it anywhere and everywhere!
Please send your entries to either your class teacher to myself (Mr Graham) on Class Dojo. There have been some incredible entries so far and I will put more examples online after we have finished the competition.
Good luck!
