This half term our topic has been Out of this World. For the last two weeks we have been learning about castles and dragons. The class story that we have been reading is a book called How To Catch A Dragon. In literacy the children have loved reading this book and enjoyed exploring its contents using colourful semantics.

In phonics we have been amazing! We have been sounding and blending lots of CVC words and completing rhyming strings. We have also used a variety of media to make our name using letter stampers and playdough.

In maths we have completed lots of counting and 1:1 correspondence activities. We have also explored the value of numbers to 20 using place value counters.

In history we have labelled parts of a castle and we have learned about knights. In art we have focused on using digital media to create pieces of amazing artwork of castles, dragons and knights. The children have absolutely loved learning about this topic. Well done everyone!!!!

Our topic this term is ‘The Olympics’. We worked together to make an Olympic torch, then did our own relay race using the torch. It was great fun!
